Unlimited (And Timely) Podcast Topics
When working on a daily show, or even a weekly one, it helps to have timely topics … and plenty of them.
Here are three options to get you started:
You can see topics that are trending online at BuzzFeed trending, Reddit (/r/news, /r/AskReddit, or a niche-specific group), and within almost any social media app.
Google Trends is great for seeing what’s popping in real time.
Sites like This Day in History can be a fun segment for filler or “Did you know?” moments.
Wrap all of this into a simple daily habit: scan a few trend sources, log five potential topics, and pick one you can add your voice to.
Prioritize what your listeners are already curious about, then layer in a “This Day in History” or quick “Did you know?” to keep the pacing lively.
The goal isn’t to chase every headline, it’s to show up consistently with timely, relevant conversation that feels like it was made for your listeners. Do that, they’ll come back looking for more.
