Time to Quit?
When I was a teenager, I'd hear stories of rock stars quitting massively successful bands. And I'd think, "What are they doing? These guys have everything going for them!"
I was wrong. The inside is always different from the outside, so the things you’re experiencing can be messy (and even miserable), even if they don’t appear that way to people watching from the sidelines.
Take care of yourself. If you don't have your "inside" right, at best, you're going to burn out quickly. And you may do actual harm to yourself, if you push things.
For projects like a podcast, recognizing the right time to step away is critical. It's tough to let go, especially if your podcast has a significant following or is part of your identity.
Reflect on why you started the podcast in the first place and assess whether those reasons still hold true. If they don't, or if the cost to your inner peace is too high, it may be time to thank your listeners for their support, share your reasons for moving on, and explore new options.
