Google's AI Podcast Hosts

The hardest-working duo in podcasting ...

Have you seen Google’s Notebook tool?

It can take something like this article on how to get better podcast interviews

And turn it into the “co-hosted” audio at the top of this page.

Something I think is funny about it is that one of the hosts pretty much just agrees with the other and isn’t really needed—just like on so many real podcasts!

Currently, these two “people” are everywhere. I’ve heard them on a number of podcasts and other online audio, talking about anything and everything.

To me, it’s more of a cool “party trick” than anything, but I think tools like this be helpful for students or professionals who want to memorize something or consume material in different formats. Google NotebookLM works great to convert written documents like textbooks, lecture notes, or research papers into audio, but also to change solo-format podcasts and audiobooks into a “conversation” that delivers the content in a more casual way and with additional perspective.

Will AI tools like Google NotebookLM replace human podcasters? No. People want to connect to other people and it’s who you are outside your podcast that attract people to your podcast as much as the podcast itself.

Still, tools like Google NotebookLM are something for you to be aware of and work with. Don’t ignore them.
